The oldest acting courthouse in Ohio is located on the square of Somerset, Ohio. The Tradesmen Group was involved in the first phase of a multi-phased restoration of this historical monument. Phase I included restoration of the steeple, new imitation slate roofing and decorative sheet metal restoration.
The steeple was structurally stabilized and wood timbers restored with products manufactured by Abatron. Slate shingles were installed with close attention to match the historical design and profile of the original slate patterns.
Ornamental sheet metal fixtures were restored and replaced to accent this beautiful courthouse. A new slate roof by Owens Corning was installed as part of Phase I restoration. We worked closely with Schooley Caldwell & Associates, the restoration architect, and Mayor Schmeltzer in this restoration project. |
