The Tradesmen Group restored St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Newark, Ohio in 2004. It began with the creation of a restoration strategy, paying close attention to the detail and design of this magnificent structure built in the 1800’s. The slate roof provided much of the historical significance and character of this building. A new slate roof , historically matching the original in design and style was installed. To replicate the ornamentation of this grand historical structure, our artisans used techniques to duplicate each curve and line of the ornamental sheet metal fixtures. We replicated the decorative ridge to match the historic profile and restored the ornamental fencing to its original beauty. The decorative finials appearing in original photographs taken in the 1800’s were fabricated and installed at the tops of the towers. |
